Meet Melecia
Hi, I’m Melecia.
I’m a Physics teacher, Head of Science and Physics examiner, and the founder of Cornerstone Physics.
Over the years, I’ve taught students with very different levels of confidence in Physics. One thing I see again and again is that students can know the content, yet still struggle to apply it when they are faced with an unfamiliar exam question.
My teaching is about finding where the difficulty really is. Sometimes it’s a gap in understanding. Sometimes it’s a misconception that has never been corrected. And sometimes the student understands the Physics but doesn’t know how to turn that understanding into marks.
Being an examiner gives me another perspective too. I see first-hand the small mistakes that repeatedly cost students marks — and what stronger answers do differently.
That’s what I bring into my group classes: clear explanations, carefully chosen practice, exam insight and a supportive space where students can ask questions, make mistakes and improve.
I don’t want students simply to get through another Physics lesson. I want them to understand why something works, know how to approach the question, and gradually become confident enough to do it without me.
Physics can feel difficult. It doesn’t have to feel impossible.

The small-group format means I can quickly spot where students are struggling, address misconceptions and give individual feedback as we work.

What exam boards do you cover?
I cover AQA, OCR, and Edexcel GCSE Physics.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 60 minutes, delivered online.
Are the lessons live?
Yes. All sessions are taught live online, with students encouraged to participate, answer questions and ask for help throughout.
What happens if my child misses a lesson?
Students have access to lesson recordings, so they can catch up or revisit explanations afterwards.
Can my child ask questions outside the lesson?
Yes. Students can message me between sessions if they need clarification or support. Parents can also contact me with questions.
Will I know how my child is progressing?
Yes. I provide progress feedback to parents, including areas of improvement and anything that may need further attention.
